Default Web reaches one trillion milestone

Now isn't that scary. Google seem to think there is now over one trillion unique url's on the internet. When they first measured it in 1998 (just 10 years ago) there was only 26 million. Thats some growth

That is very scary. The thing is, how long will the web stay in one piece with all that weight hanging from it and being added to all the time? Will something give out eventually?

The report actually states that you can potentially have infinite urls. Seeing that most people will host their own sites I dont think we could get in a position where the web fell over. I for one wouldn't k now what to do if it did

That's brilliant Gordon, you gave me a good laugh on this wet and stormy Tuesday morning.
