Default Re: And so it begins....

I totally agree Matt, I am in touch with a large community of designers and developers all over the world; the majority of which are working Macs. I have maintained my PC setup for the last few years using 'testing' as an excuse not to fork out for Macs, but having now had a macbook for the last couple of months I think things may change!

To be fair the majority of work that I carry out is development, so very 'text editor' based, but even so there are a number of applications only available for the Mac that just make the job even easier. There are some poor imitations of these apps on the PC, not quite cutting it in all honesty. Added to that is the simplicity of the Mac OS, I have yet to find an app that doesn't allow simple drag and drop functionality for almost every file type, think of how you would like it to work and the chances are, it does!

The cost is the ONLY factor that has really held me back on the switch, but that is going to change as soon as possible.

On a side note Matt, you mention about the quality of the monitors you use - have you looked at the new LED-Backlit displays fitted to the iMacs and the 30" Apple Cinema HD Display - beautiful!!
