Beat the credit crunch and save the planet in style!
As 'credit crunch chic' becomes
de rigueur due to the current financial squeeze,
The Frockery has announced its latest free to enter
Fifty Quid Fashion Challenge in which its website visitors are being asked to put together a stylish look for a given occasion for £50 or less.
Entrants are invited to submit their chosen outfit for a formal business meeting or a retro 1970s themed party and to state in no more than 20 words why their look deserves to win the challenge. The closing date for completed challenges is 30 November and the winner of each category will receive goods of their choice from The Frockery website to the value of £50, with one runner up from each category receiving goods to the value of £25.
Launching the latest challenge, Frockery founder Alison Preuss said:
"At The Frockery, we delight in finding new appreciative owners for preloved vintage, retro and recycled fashion and want to remind people that looking stylish need not cost the earth.
"We launched the first Frockery Fifty Quid Fashion Challenge last year and it proved a real hit with our customers who entered into the spirit of simultaneously saving the wallet and the planet.
"Now that the credit crunch is beginning to bite, consumers are far more focused on value for money and fashion recycling makes perfect financial, as well as environmental, sense. We are seeing an upsurge of interest from a new generation of eco-friendly fashionistas who want to dress for less yet still stay stylish.
"We hope our latest fashion challenge will encourage even more people to embrace sustainability and style without breaking the bank. Why buy new when it's more fashionable, frugal and eco-friendly to go retro?"
