Default Hygiene at the Office

Hello fellow members,

How are the bathroom facilities at your place of work?

It is Tork Hygiene Week starting today as the flu season is in full effect so i thought i would provide some information that will help you stay healthy as an employer/employee.

Workplace infection has traditionally taken third place - after accidents and non-biological occupational hazards - in occupational health priority. Raised awareness to infection hazards is changing this. At one end of the scale, this is because of the huge cost to business of staff absenteeism through common infections. At the other end of the scale, in the EU there are still about 5,000 workers dying every year from communicable disease acquired at work.

It would be interesting to hear each of your thoughts regarding your companies regulations for hygiene.

I hope you are all well.

Chris

Default Re: Hygiene at the Office

I work in one of the shipyards on the Clyde.

I know the Company are big on Hygiene and make it known so through all available channels.

However it is the very large company in charge of cleaning the site that i worry about, this isnt by any means a dig at a competitor as by comparison i am a very small fish in their very large pond, but because for one i dont think they will be on here, and two its been brought to their attention daily where i am.

But the toilets are abysmal, the kitchen isnt much better and the supposed workstation hygiene clean they are offering and probably charging for is only achieved by herding a cleaner in the direction of our office.

It comparison to the offices in Norway i worked in, their is a vast difference in both attitiude and practice.

Oh and im currently loaded with the cold/flu (man-flu?! ) so maybe im just a little annoyed.
