Postcard marketing to new businesses

Hi All,

I'm currently thinking about how we promote SBF offline. In addition to the business cards I'm also thinking about having a postcard sized marketing piece that would be sent to all new company startups in Scotland. The main aim would be to show SBF as a place to get support and advice for their business from other business owners etc.

Do you think this is a sensible idea? And any ideas of what could be used in the design would be great

I was about to ask you about the business cards again, Barry, as I am going to two events next week (one in Glasgow and one in Edinburgh) where I could usefully hand them out. Also, the next Tayside WIB meeting is on 16th October which I will also try and get to as it is on ecommerce (a subject dear to my heart

)

I think the postcard idea is a good one. We recently used a well designed postcard to promote both our conference and the main speaker's forthcoming book and that got great feedback (as well as a good number of advance book orders) from our target market.

Yes, you did that at a PLC meeting too!!

Before I met oor JimBairn on here, I had seen a few of his cartoons on a postcard for an Accountacy firm....and I thought they were great...in fact they were so good, I still remember them and I can tell you who the firm they were made for as well.

So I would recommend you consider a good cartoon for a marketing campaign postcards.
