Mine is " I help businesses market more effectively. Most people who go into business are really good technicians at what they do unfortunately for many they are not so good at letting the world know that. I help them get the word out."

On the point about MLM'rs. I attended a speed networking event recently and found it interesting with "normal" business owners there was a comfortable eb and flow of conversation for the time. With the MLM'rs there was just a pitch and they did not ask any questions that would find out anything about my business or even if I might be the slightest bit interested in what they were talking about. I found it quite amusing that I even told one that I knew all about his service from a previous meeting but that did not stop him. It was like a train wreck.

To be interesting at a networking meeting be interested in the other person.
