Thanks for sharing that Jen I am happy to say that my account is now verified and I can now take payments via email. The scary bit is still to come.... actually issuing an invoice for payment but then I need a sale for that to happen

Hi DizzyDiza,
I agree with not installing a pay now button and doing it via email. Bear in mind that if you are looking for an international customer base, PayPal does not work in every country and that alone may be enough to put people off which is why I discuss payment options with my customers on an indivdual basis (I work with customers in South Africa and internationally too).

I have to say I've just bought some stuff from Diana using Paypal via email and it was actually a very painless experience. I also like that she was able to send me a postage notification today. Looking forward to receiving the pieces which i'm sure will be fab from the photo's i received

Your wicked Matt ...lol

Yep thank you Barry for my being my first. I have sent many payments before using my original Paypal account but I closed it and set up the new one so that I had more flexibility with it. It took about a week from start to finish to set it up and sending an invoice and postage details was very easy. The only surprize for me was the amount Paypal charge for this service but then I have never taken payment other than by cash or cheque before. It is something I will just need to get use to if I want to expand geographically...in a way it was a welcome to the real business world.
Hope the photographs did the jewellery justice.
