Default Any MS Office Accounting Express users?

Just wondering if anybody else on here uses Microsoft Office Accounting Express?

I spent the whole weekend transferring all my info and accounts etc across to it as I was fairly impressed with what it could do for me. I then spent some time creating custom templates for invoices and quotes, and used them to generate real invoices and quotes - great!

However, having been asked about something on an invoice that was generated on it I went to open it up this afternoon only for it to stick on the loading screen! After a trigger happy task manager session and a few reboots I decided to uninstall and reinstall it. Ah success! Although I couldn't access my business as it had updated itself since install, so I had to carry out an update first - I can cope with that.

Update completed I try and access my information so that I can send a 'better late than never' reply to my customer - guess what? It won't load properly again!!!!

I am not sure if my data file is corrupt in some way or if the application is failing after the updates?!?! I can't even get in to it to try and restore a backup from Sunday to see if it is the data file!

If anybody does use this app, have they experienced any problems with it in the last few days since it's Service Pack 1 update came out?

Regards,

Gordon

I have just been on Microsoft's newsgroup for accounting, and it's not just me!

If anybody else is having problems Microsoft are aware of the issue and have issued a temporary fix whilst they look in to it...

Either disconnect from the internet to allow the program to run, or disallow access to the internet for SBA.exe in your firewall.

Regards,

Gordon

Thumbs up Re: Any MS Office Accounting Express users?

Here is the final fix for any users of MS Office Accounting Express...

Microsoft identified a server issue and made one change. If you delete
the contents of the following folder (assuming 'C' is your system drive),
enabe online access if you blocked SBA in your firewall and restart Office Accounting.

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office
Accounting\AdCache

Vista:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Office Accounting\AdCache

I have done so and I am now back up and running.

Hope this helps someone!

Regards,

Gordon
