Default Facebook versus Scottish Business Forums...

Well what is you favourite "waste of time"

And since people are being repremanded for using Facebook at work, do you think (or even hope) that the same reputation will befall users of our beloved Scottish Business Forums?

Hi Gordon

I work from home so no worries on being reprimanded.......unless by me for spending so much time on the SBF forum....it's becoming an addiction......just like Guinness (hic)

I have to say that SBF will probably prove more useful for the many business people on here than Facebook ever will. Mind you, having never used Facebook that's a completely one-sided view!

Well I hope I would never get reprimanded for using these forums but a lot of the time people usually see these forums now as a social networking site like facebook or bebo because of the negative "time wasting" opinion on them. I have only been using forums for a short time, to be honest I think I should be using them a lot more, but so far I have managed to pick up some tips along the way and areas to think about for our business and hopefully in time they will help towards awareness for our company and products.

But too be honest I do not see how facebook would be helpful in my company (or a lot of businesses), I could see it working for maybe clubs, bars etc. to promote themselves and get some members/regulars feedback and offer deals but I do not see many people going onto facebook in search of hr software.

I'm not a fan of Facebook for many reasons and like Ryan find it very difficult to apply to my business. I do know that Alison from The Frockery has some success with it so it does work in certain industries. What I would say though is if it's not obvious how you should be using it then it would better focussing on other ways to attract business.

As for Facebook V SBF No Contest
